CASINO and VIRTUAL BOX

Post by Ikem Uba »

I use Windows OS, and intend to teach myself CASINO since it's not possible to attend the workshop.

1. How Can I learn the CASINO on my own ?
2. Can the CASINO be installed and run effectively on Ubuntu that is install as "guest" OS using VIRTUAL BOX ?

3. Can the CASINO and Ubuntu be install and run effectively on external hard drive?

Hi Ikem,

We don't really support Windows (one in the eye for Bill Gates, eh? - I'm sure he cares deeply) but instructions for installing CASINO under Windows - written by Pablo some time ago - are provided in question A11 of the CASINO FAQ (linked top left).

I don't really know what Virtual Box is, I'm afraid - perhaps someone who has experience with it would be better placed to advise. If you have control of the machine you could just create a new partition on your hard disk and install Ubuntu/CASINO on that whilst leaving your copy of Windows intact and working (this can be done very easily by the Ubuntu installer if you ask it nicely).

M.

PS: How to learn CASINO on your own? Start by reading Section 6 of the manual: "Introductory user's guide: how to use CASINO".
